Body and Mind

For cases of matter over mind, however, refer to the events of today. Or rather, the event of 3 days ago, when I should have begun a hydration regimen, said the 911 medic. Biking 50 miles in 4 hours under a heat index of 108 degrees in the middle of nowhere, no shops (no AC, no water), just deserted ghost-farms, ain't smart.  To make matter worse, all farmers must have been at one awesome peanut conference cuz at one point we knocked on three doors and ended up having to sneak around looking for a faucet. We did and we gulped madly, which didn't help because what you need is them electrolytes, said the medic.  So the lightheadedness kicked in but I kept going until my blood pressure plummeted and my pulse dropped to 52.  That, is matter over mind.

Dehydration blows but I learned my lesson and am continuing.  Of course, we might take it a little easier and smarter the next few days, as the heat climbs.
