Delaware in a Day and Ferry to Cape May

With a good chunk of Maryland and a long stretch of Delaware ahead of us this morning, we were finally able to put in a decent 65 miles. The lower 80-90s degree heat helped as much as our new early morning start habit. Not only is it cooler in the morning but you also get those long tree shadows if you are northbound. We also nixed the Bay to Shore Indian backroads and I went shirtless... the breeze felt extra chilly.

We are currently on yet another ferry. My UNC advisor suggested I check out Wildwood near Cape May. But this time it doesn't feel like homework. The bikes on the ferry boat are attached to the posts before cars are allowed on the ship. Then you walk upstairs and get a view of a rad looking ancient ship and after the ferry takes off you wait for the captain to announce the appearance of dolphins on either the right or the left of the ship. At this point, everyone runs to that side and misses the dolphin. But the fun is in scrambling to and fro with absolute strangers and asking if they saw it.
