"Look Dad, I tampered with my bike the other day and figured out how to toggle the tension on the brakes! Here, let me show you how I did that..." (5 minutes later) "why isn't this thing screwing back in...?"That's how I ended up screwing up the left counterpart of the tiny screw shown here on the right side of my bike. Apparently, the screw broke because the entire brake system has eroded -- after all, it's 8 years old.
So I'm missing a screw, but I think it works OK without it... I take faith in the possibility that it's analogous to the brain.
